The Council of Private Investigators - Ontario, is a non-profit organization that seeks to further the interests of Private Investigators licensed in the Province of Ontario. We hold regular professional development seminars in different locations throughout the province, where our members upgrade their skills, network with other professionals, and discuss mutual interests. Membership in the Council of Private Investigators shows a commitment to professionalism and ongoing development.

There are several different membership options available. Prices are listed in Canadian dollars and include the applicable HST (13%):
- INDIVIDUAL - ($56.50) Required by any individual licensed private investigator.
- AGENCY - ($395.50) Features public advertising options not available to individual memberships. Sole proprietors do not require an Individual membership.
- ASSOCIATE - ($56.50) For non-licensed membership.
- STUDENT - ($28.25) For non-licensed individuals who are pursuing a post-secondary degree in a private investigations related field of study.
- HONORARY - ($0) Reserved for select persons who have been nominated for membership by the Board of Directors.
One of the newest benefits for Associate members is the opportunity to be independently listed under the Field Experts section of the website. Here, agency and individual members can search for experts in any particular area of expertise.
